Polk County Women Attorneys (“PCWA”) will host the “Wicked Basket Auction: For Good”, an annual charity fundraiser benefitting the Young Women’s Resource Center (“YWRC”), at 5:30 p.m. on October 23, 2025, at the Des Moines Heritage Center.

YWRC’s mission is to empower participants to be strong, self-confident, and resilient. Through educational programs in central Iowa, YWRC helps girls and young women ages 10-24 realize their full potential. PCWA and YWRC cordially invite your legal team to support this worthy cause by sponsoring and/or donating a basket or bottle of wine (or two!) for this year’s Basket Auction.

Wicked Sponsorships

Sponsorships are essential to Basket Auction’s success. Each sponsorship level includes the following:

• Advertising on screen during the event, Advertising on the mobile bidding app (BidPal)
• PCWA social media post prior to the event, PCWA social media post thanking all sponsors after the event
• VIP tickets – each VIP ticket includes event access, heavy appetizers, and a beverage ticket

Gold | $750: 5 VIP tickets with reserved seating

Wicked Donations

We invite your legal team to show off its creativity by donating one or more baskets for the auction. The Basket Auction will include both a silent and a live auction. Themed baskets have been especially popular in years past (e.g., theater lover basket, cozy reading basket, spa basket, sports fanatic basket, etc.). To maximize participation in the silent and live auctions – and maximize the funds raised for YWRC – we are seeking basket contributions with a wide range of suggested retail values.

We will also be hosting a wine pull and are looking for donations of bottles of wine. This is a great option for solo practitioners, public interest attorneys, and smaller legal teams with fewer resources to put together a whole basket to still get in on the fun of donating. Wines of all varieties and price points are needed!

NEW! Karaoke Contest! We are looking for volunteers to sing karaoke during cocktail hour! Contestants will sing a song of their choice (bonus points for songs that work with the Wicked: For Good theme) and the audience will “vote” for a winner with their dollars! All proceeds will go to YWRC with a prize for the winner as well. You don’t have to be Cynthia Erivo or Ariana Grande – just willing to sing for GOOD! Solos, duets, and group performances all accepted and encouraged!

To have sufficient time to utilize the BidPal system and prepare for the auction, we ask that baskets and wine be delivered to Claim DOC, LLC or BrownWinick no later than 5:00 p.m. on October 17, 2025.
