March PCWA Luncheon

Join PCWA for our March virtual networking luncheon, featuring a timely discussion about The CROWN Act and Race Discrimination Based on Natural Hair.
The luncheon presentation will explore the issue of race discrimination based on hairstyles associated with African American culture and natural hair types and will review federal precedent addressing workplace discrimination as well as examples of discrimination in other contexts such as schools. It will also introduce you to the proposed legislation known as the CROWN Act, which stands for Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair. The CROWN Act was recently enacted to prohibit race-based hair discrimination in 7 states and has been considered in an additional 30 states.
Julia Steggerda-Corey is the Director of the Compliance and Risk Management Program at Drake Law School. Victoria Millet is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Associate and Deputy Title IX Officer at the University of Minnesota. Both Julia and Torii attended Drake Law.

Meal Pick Up will be at the ISBA Parking Lot, 625 East Court Avenue, Des Moines, from 5:00-6:00 pm on Wednesday, March 10th.

This entrée is optionally gluten-free.
Vegetarian Pasta Roulade featuring zucchini, spinach, and mushroom pasta roulade with a roasted red pepper sauce. This entrée is vegetarian.
In addition to the above options, Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup is available for purchase by the quart. This kid-friendly classic would be fantastic for sharing with your family at lunch or reheating for another meal.
Every serving will include a Chocolate Guinness Cupcake
with Bailey's Irish Cream frosting.
Entrées may be ordered individually or in larger portions to share with your family.
1 for $15 — 2 for $25 — 4 for $45 — 8 for $80
Soup will be $10 per quart.
